General safety advice.
- Keep people and pets away from the tree, and out of any room under a damaged roof.
- Treat every wire as live. Stay well back from downed or sagging lines, and from a tree that is touching them. Call your power company and report the line. Do not try to move the tree or the wire.
- If anyone is hurt, a fire has started, or the tree blocks a road, call 911.
- Do not cut or climb a tree that is leaning on a roof, a line or another tree. The weight can shift without warning.
- Take photos from a safe distance of the tree, the damage and the surrounding area. Your insurance company will usually ask for them.
- Turn off power or water at the source only if you can reach it safely and the tree has damaged those lines.
Then call us
Call or text 478-832-0890. Tell us your address and town, where the tree is, and whether it touches the house, a fence, a driveway or a wire. A photo by text helps. We can say on the call whether we can come to your town.
What happens next
- Peter talks through the situation with you and confirms your town.
- We look at the tree, which parts are under tension and what it rests on. Estimates are free.
- We take the tree down top down, piece by piece, where access is tight. Where a bucket truck can't reach, our 80-foot spider lift tracks through garden gates and sets up on the driveway.
- We clear the work area.
Where the power company has to make a line safe first, work waits until they have.
